https://www.vanoorschot.nl/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/pasternak.jpg200247Boris Pasternak (1890-1960) was een veelzijdig talent maar vestigde vanaf de jaren twintig zijn naam vooral als dichter. Dokter Zjivago bezorgde hem onmiddellijk wereldwijde bekendheid. Voor dit boek kreeg hij in 1958 de Nobelprijs toegekend maar die moest hij onder druk van de Sovjet-Unie weigeren. Zijn zoon nam de onderscheiding in 1989 alsnog in ontvangst.
